Liphook in Bloom Week
- Phliip Jordan (8th Jul 2012 - 18:46:08)

Today is the start of “Liphook in Bloom Week”.

During the week a number of local competitions take place ranging from Residential Front Gardens to Floral Decoration at Public Houses, Decorated Shop Windows to Best Residential Community Involvement. There are ten categories in all. We thank all those who entered and wish them good luck.

Presentation will take place on Wednesday at the Anchor Garage for the children’s “Best Garden in a Small Container” competition.

The Liphook in Bloom volunteers have been working diligently to make the community look at its best- come rain (!!) or shine(?) We hope it is enjoyed. With a few hours warm sun the flowers may even give us a beautiful display.

As with last year we are asking the public to vote for their favourite flower-bed. Members of the Team will be at Sainsbury on Thursday morning and Friday afternoon. Photos of all our beds will be on display so please come along and fill in a voting slip.

On Wednesday 18th July morning judges from South & South East of England in Bloom will be touring the village to assess the quality of our entry. We have done well in the past and hope for recognition of a high standard again this year.

Our objective is to make the community a better place to live, work or shop. This week, with the help of all our volunteers and sponsors I believe we can show off our achievement.

Philip Jordan

(on behalf of the Liphook in Bloom Team)

Hi Everyone

Had a lovely walk around the village looking at all the shop windows. I think it will be a very difficult task to judge the best of the best. My two favourites were Peep in Side and Route 6. A special mention to JB Accountants on London Road, their window is hilarious especially the spiders!!!!

Go and have a look! Great fun,

Well done everyone

Katy
