Dangerous Drivers, Get a Life and Please Get off our Roads!
- Catarina (23rd May 2012 - 17:59:40)
Is the centre of Liphook a racing track?
What on earth is the matter with these drivers?
It is constant. Everyday drivers decide to measure the size of their cowardliness by speeding down busy roads. Roads where kids walk to school. The racers even use the supermarket parking area to practice their driving!
And the police are just around the corner, watching and waiting for someone to be killed.
Someone should stop this nonsense.

I could not agree with you more. Tonight at about 4.00pm I was waiting my turn to go across the mini roundabout having just come off the A3 when the car behind me, actually overtook me whilst I was moving across the roundabout I thought he was going to take either the headley road or the longmoor road not go the same way as me. I was shell shocked. I didn't wait any great length of time and I am in no hurry to risk my life like half the drivers of Liphook seem to be at the moment. Please note if you are the driver I do have your registration number and will report you. What really annoys me is that 2 mins before while I was awaiting my turn a police car went over the roundabout. They are never about to catch these idiots.
The driver wasn't even young, and nor was the driver on Friday lunchtime that came flying out of the Headley road assuming its his right of way and not having to stop for anyone, I had to anchor on the brakes, when I left the London road it had been clear.
Its such a shame as well because its getting worse and nobody is doing anything about it. Liphook used to be a nice calm place to live but everyone is in far too much of a hurry.
The next problem is the state of the resurfacing job on the London and Portsmouth road which is now just melting!!
And one more rant while I am at it, has the Portsmouth Road been turned into a car park, there will be an accident soon with the amount of cars that people have to go out round as people speed up to get round them all while the other way is clear. I thought there was a rule in the highway code book about parking too close to a junction(station road) but I guess not as the traffic police car in the village earlier drove straight past.

I have noticed that alot of cars are parking in the bus stop on the portsmouth road. and very close to the crossing by hampshire's.
i sometimes get glared at by car drivers stopping for me at the crossing as i had dared to press the button to cross the road, am going to loose my temper before long sometimes have to get back on the pavement as they sometimes driving to fast to stop.
not very safe for children or old people trying to cross the road. i took a car number plate down a while ago and reported it to the police but they were not interested and said i needed a witness.

What is more worrying was that this happened about 2.35 as they were standing on the pavement taking each others info having left the two cars abandoned in the middle of the mini roundabout causing extreme traffic issues as i was in queue awaiting to get to an appointment luckily we left home in good time!!!
