LIDBA route
- Richard (18th May 2012 - 11:23:43)

Does anyone have any influence with Hampshire and Sussex County Councils, as there are some stretches that are in a shocking state? Particularly bad for a rubbish surface is the part between Milland and Fernhurst, but the bit around the lane on the run into Milland could do with a road sweeper going down it a couple of times. If it is not resurfaced soon, then everyone will be forced to use a mountain bike so the road bike wheels don't get destroyed.

I believe the area you are alluding to is in West Sussex -find out the County Councillor with the portfolio for transport they may help you.

This problem has already been reported to W Sussex CC and we are waiting to hear when the repairs will take place.

I have just been informed that the road is scheduled to be repaired 2nd June and completed before the Bike ride

Really? Sounds too good to be true. Given the state of the road, I'd have thought it needed a lot of work. You don't suppose they're just going to spray with tar, pour on some chippings and hope for the best, are they?

Considering how bad the surface is now, I would probably settle for a layer of gravel. At least it would be consistent!
