Nearby Farms
- Rob (13th May 2012 - 21:41:16)

Hey, I figured I would ask you guys, but does anyone know of any good local farms where I can buy meat and eggs from? I am sick of the standard of welfare that supermarket shops allow for their meat products. Thank you in advance!

there are farmers markets every month at petersfield
or used to be, they sold meat veg and eggs ect in the market square. local produced real ale and a garlic stall as well.
i often get leaflets through my door about organic veg boxes and meat and eggs, you can order according to your family size and can pick and choose what you want, i have forgotten the name but you could look on line.
they deliver to your door.

Riverford deliver organic veg and/or meat boxes locally and are very efficient and the products are of good quality. There is also Rother Valley Organics at Rogate which sells organic beef, lamb, port and chicken. Not been there myself yet but highly recommended by friends. Also for for non-supermarket, good quality meat try Kaighin and Daughter butchers at Grayshott - friendly, helpful service.

I have used |Rother Valley organics and can vouch for the quality of the meat I do not think they sell eggs though Rother Valley Organics deliver to this area and have a website. I have a friend who has a goat farm, she sells organic soft goats cheese and goat meat she is now I believe doing Pork, she is near Rogate, she also has some chickens so may sell eggs she has a website she lives at Hansus Cottage Rogate, I believe her website is Hansus Goats or something similar? There is also a butcher and organic farm shop at Blackdown also has a good tea room selling home made cakes forgotten the name at present but it is on the way to Lurgashall.

I buy my eggs from outside the little cottage in Hollywater, Whitehill opposite the Royal Oak Pub. They sell half a dozen chicken eggs for £1 and they also sell duck and geese eggs. The birds are all free range and can be seen in the garden just around the corner to Hollywater! Wonderful!
