Parish council by-election
- nigel newman (18th Jun 2006 - 11:34:20)

Thank you for putting my election leaflet onto the website so that everyone can see it. Like John Carne, I was a bit disappointed that the piece I wrote in the Liphook Herald was cut, although to be fair to the Herald it was their initiative in the first place to ask the candidates to set out their views.
As some of you are obviously aware from comments on the site, I have now taken some days off work to get out and about to meet as many people as I can. Sorry if you regard my flyer as just another bit of junk mail, but I think it is important to go and knock on doors if you expect voters to turn out for you.

Hi

I for one appreciated the chance to meet and talk with you. If we as a parish are to be interested in who our elected representative is going to be then it is important for us to understand their views and agenda.

The thing that is so important is that we do make use of the vote that we are given rather than leave it to others.

I hope that the people of Liphook do you both proud, and would like to thank both of you for taking the decision to commit so much of your free time to looking after our interests.

Regards

Lips x

i wish both of you well and who ever wins i hope that you will then understand that there is more to the job that you would think . there seem many people out there with the thought that it is a easy job and all things should be open . some cant be , but this council is a very good one and i am sure who ever gets on will do well
