Stamps and Cellotape!

Today I learnt a costly lesson.
I have bought some postage bags rather than use brown paper, but was worried that the stamps would not adhere properly. I put cellotape around the edges just to be sure.
Lady at the post office refused the parcel saying that the cellotape invalidates the stamps. [£2.20 worth!].
I tried to peel the tape off, but off course – with these new tamper proof stamps all the top came off.
Only a small amount of tape was on the stamp so I don’t understand why it would be refused, but nevertheless - I won’t do that again!

Wow! Thanks for that Dawn. I often put tape on my parcels etc and across post code so it doesn't smudge in the rain, and stamps "just in case".
Will remember to keep clear of the stamps in future.
