Liphook Skatepark
- Paul Street (6th Jun 2006 - 20:13:53)

Hello,

i'm a regular user of the Liphook skatepark, partly because it's the only place left where skateboarders aren't told they aren't allowed to skate there, but i've probably spoken a bit too soon.

i've heard that sainsbury's want to demolish the skatepark and build a 'relief road' through that area to reduce traffic in the liphook area. if this happens then then the few skaters/bmxers in liphook would have no choice but to go to haslemere to skate, and this would be very annoying!!!

also, i was wondering if the council will be able to improve the skatepark at any time soon? unfortunately it doesn't have a lot too offer, but if it was enlarged and a few extra things added it may keep skaters out of places where skating is forbidden. can anyone help???

Isn't there a skate park next to the Library?

No Worries, I suspect.

Anyone that has been to a larger village (or town) than Liphook will, by now, have realised that there isn't actually a congestion problem in Liphook.

Even if there were, Sainsbury's would not want to pay for anything to be done about it unless it were in their commercial interest or a legal obligation.

I suspect somebody is telling you (or I) porkies.

As for the skate park, I have been there on a number of occasions but have not, as yet, seen anyone skating there. But I have seen hundreds of kids in the Scout/ Guide Halls.

Paul. There will never be a road built through the skate park. This is a very complicated matter but planning would never be given.
