Liphook Herald
- Councillor Barbara Easton (31st Mar 2012 - 11:02:12)

I am posting on here to correct the impression given by the lead article this week in the Herald. This report only partly reflected the discussion at the Annual Parish Meeting on traffic in the avenue. The bulk of the article was given to the reporter after the meeting by Councillor Tough, and is not the opinion of the whole council, only those of Councillor Tough, who works as an independent traffic consultant. He has put forward his own views to the reporter after the meeting, and his views are personal to him only. Our District Councillor Ferris Cowper responded at the meeting to questions about traffic in the avenue, he was not reported on at all. He is writing with a complaint about this style of reporting to the editor of the Herald.
If it was the official view of the council it would have been prefaced a "Press Release"

Haven't "checked in" for ages. Good to see nothing changes !!

I am pleased to see that The Herald responded to a complaint from our District Councillor who is very proactive in the community, and received his views. Councillor Cowper's full report to the Annual Meeting can be read on the Parish Council's new website, as can a report from our equally hardworking new District Councillor, Mrs Angela Glass, who lives in Bramshott.
