Hi all, just to let you all know that on the 13th April (friday) at liphook social club on the headley road we are holding a fund raising charity night in aid of Macmillan, with Pompey football legends Alan Knight and Andy Awford coming to the club at approx 8.00pm for a question and answer session, pool or darts match challenge, and generally making themselves available to all attending for chats etc to make it a good night. We have a professional compere comedian Martin David to generally make the evening go smoothly! Also the King\'s Pond Shanty Men will be appearing to sing sea shantys to you all. All in good spirits! All funds raised will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Charity. The Messenger newspaper is sponsoring the evening and Kestral radio have promised to give us some publicity on the airwaves! We are looking to local businesses to donate items/services for a grand raffle/auction! . If you can help please contact us! Hi Dave,
I spoke to Steve the Steward at the Social Club after I received your request for a donation.Sorry that it is so late but only received the letter on Saturday.Yes,I will leave a voucher to spend at the Gurkha Chautari at the Restaurant.
Perhaps someone could collect it when the Restaurant is open ...ie lunch 12-2.30 pm and 6-11 pm for dinner.
Good luck with the evening...I am unable to make it but hope you raise lots of funds for this worthy cause.
Sudha.

Just an update on how the evening went,we raised £687.32 for the macmillan charity. Well done and thankyou to all who attended. Special thanks to those individuals and local businesses that donated to the raffle and auction. Thanks also to pompey football club for donating the match tickets.Letters of thanks have been sent out. It is nice that your local social club was able to hold an event like this and contribute to such a worthy cause. I have arranged with macmillan for them to collect the cheque from the club(date to be announced soon) when we will do the presentation.
