Rubbish at the Rec
- Cath (8th Mar 2012 - 21:30:41)

Beautiful day today and took my two young boys to the rec - they love the new playground there.

I picked up a full bag of rubbish including lots of cans, used wet wipes and the like - it was just so disappointing. The bins had been emptied so really there is no excuse and more importantly a real safety issue for small children.

Please just put your rubbish in the bin and teach your children to do the same.

I have noticed that there has been a lot of rubbish all over the village lately, lots of fly tipping into hedges, especially in Radford park theres a whole black bin of rubbish been dumped (which I meant to report to the council but forgot during my busy week).

Phil can we organise another litter picking morning/afternoon?
I could definately get more than the 3 bags I collected last time.

Phil. I would also be keen of you arranged another litter picking event. My three year old really enjoyed the last one.

Why not just pick it up when you see it?

I am very pleased to report that a "Liphook Litter Pick" has been organised for SUNDAY 25th MARCH.

The Scouts and Guides have already confirmed thier involvment as have a number of other people. Liphook in Bloom will soon be advertising the event around Liphook.

We will gather in Midhurst Road car park at 9.30am and from there fan out to the areas in Liphook most in need of litter clearance. The more people turning up the more areas will receive attention!

Thanks to EHDC we will have litter pick sticks. I strongly suggest that we all where a pair of gloves.

If you can spare a morning to help Liphook will look a better place for it.

Philip Jordan (Liphook in Bloom -Chairman)
