I suggest that you report it straight away to the British Transport Police 0800 40 50 40 if you have not already done so.

They will probably have received notification from the station staff that thefts have taken place already. The cycle rack is covered by a CCTV camera with (normally,) a good view of the rack, so there is a reasonable chance that the crook may have been recorded in the act.

Sorry to hear of it- a mean thing to do.

Thanks David....i have reported it, to the police,..i have a crime reference number,..but i did point out to them, that i thought, it was covered by CCTV,..so they are going to investigate, the footage!!

I just wanted to let everyone know,..to take extra security measures, when chaining their cycles up at the Station.

In all honesty,..the station guard, wasnt too bothered..just said."oh thats the second one today",..no mention to phone the police,.."we are covered by CCTV", or any help!!

oh well.,...we live and learn!

Gina,

Thanks for posting, I had no idea and park my bike each day. Community information is vital to prevention of crime as much as it is to the detection of it. If you don't hear from BTP within 2 weeks give them a follow up call

On the same [day] my bike went missing from the same station. However mine was not locked up and the station master had removed it for safe keeping so its worth asking.

Just some advise lock it up ! That way they can't steal it so easily.
