Unloved or unwanted motorcycle.
- Scott (22nd Nov 2025 10:15:48)
Good morning all.
I'm on the lookout for a non running winter motorbike project.
I'll consider almost any make or model but particularly '80s to '90s era.
I'm looking for that ex commuter that got parked up years ago or a sportsbike that hasn't been ridden in years due to achey backs and wrists.
Ideally a 'was running when garaged' type of bike.
It must have original keys
It must have DVLA V5 (logbook)
It must have unfettled frame and engine numbers corresponding with the V5
So if you'd like to clear that garage space thats had a bike under a sheet for 10 or 20 years and you are ready to part company with it I'd love to hear a bit more.
Many thanks in advance for any leads.
Have a great weekend everyone✌️😊

Oh, Scott, I sold my last bike a few months back, sods law as usual , took a really low price as well just to get rid of it. I've given up riding after a friend was killed on his earlier this year. It's not that motorbikes are unsafe, it's the drivers who pretend not to see them. Try the Kempton Bike Jumble next month.

Hi D, thats a shame, I missed out there potentially.
Its sad to hear about your pal, road fatalities are always a tragedy and when its one of our fellow motorcycling community it hits harder.
My quest for a winter project continues.
Any other people with leads or little nuggets of info regarding a potential machine would be greatly appreciated. I was hoping to keep fairly local with my seek and find mission as I like the idea of something possibly coming from and staying in the area. Thats a lot harder I know to find but thats why I came to this forum with some hope.
As the late, great Steve McQueen was once quoted
"When the world seems like its gone totally bad, I see a lot of people smiling and having fun on motorcycles"😊
Keep them eyes peeled gents and lasses, we are hard to spot sometimes!

Thank you to Richard and Mike who after we had a chat and some messaging were both great but the machines they had in mind weren't quite what I was looking for.
So, the search continues for a motorbike refurb/recommission I can while away the long winter months on and probably put far too many hours into and then unveil a shining, running two wheeled sled next spring/summer.
Any further contacts or leads would be again much appreciated.
This'll probably be my last call for it here before I search further afield.
I'm enthusiastically hopefull none the less✌️

Are you after a complete bike but in need of restoration? Only there's not many left.
