Road Works in Headley Road
- Paul Robinson (1st Nov 2025 10:32:05)

Once again lights, signage, barriers and cones left after the work was completed on Friday.

Signs now toppled over and left lying in the road.

Should be fun when, and if, they clear them away Monday morning when the schools go back.

Yes Paul not my job again the workers could not possibly remove them even to the side of the road for collection. Their union would not like it .

Maybe the barriers have been left in place to allow the new surface to cure as much as possible. You could, of course, raise your concerns directly with those doing the job.

The 'workers' are no longer there to remonstrate with, they left on Friday.

The lights, barriers, cones and signs are the responsibility of another company and they are unlikely to be there before Monday.

Who cares,I care more about all the cars parked on the rd! Damn awful

Re: Road Works in Headley Road
- Resident (2nd Nov 2025 09:43:42)

Yes Aly they do a Damn good job slowing the mad drivers down especially coming into the 20 mph limit that so many disregard. Now the convenience store and vets makes that area very congested and dangerous.

Hi there Paul Robinson.

If you mean the temporary lights directly outside the co op, the work is as yet unfinished. There is still approximately a 1m x 1m x 200mm hole in the road surface and the pavement has a temporary cover over the again an unfinished job so that pedestrians can walk past. I'm guessing it was too late on Friday for the tarmac resurfacing crew (who are a different crew to the opening ground and repair the issue crew) to do their job and I'll bet you will see them on Monday at some point to reinstate the surfaces if the remedial work to whatever the issue was has been successfully completed and then normal service can resume.

Have a lovely Sunday one and all✌️😊

@resident, same old answer I expect from every1 on here.have you actually seen an ambulance trying to get through, vital minutes lost the other day.Anyway the council have had numerous complaints so hopefully yellows will be painted in the new year.

- Resident (2nd Nov 2025 17:24:42)

Never seen an ambulance held up on headley road only seen idiotic drivers trying to drive to fast . Be more sensible to put in traffic calming. Or better still pinch points like Midhurst Road by fire station. The speeding in liphook has got out of control.

Re: Road Works in Headley Road
- Aly (3rd Nov 2025 20:22:22)

Well I was stuck behind the ambulance so I know what I saw.i do agree the speeding around liphook is really bad, theres no need for it.the roundabouts are horrendous as well.

The holes are repaired and tarmac layed and all the signage and temporary lights gone. Normal traffic flow resumes. Credit where its due to the highways groundworkers. Only a few hundred more potholes to fix locally.

Oh stop whining, we can hardly moan about a few road repairs when we are happy to be placed under curfew for several hours on carnival night with all vehicular traffic banned in the very centre of Liphook where six main roads meet. Double standards. Remember, it's your vehicle causing the damage. Strange how no-one on here wants to approach the people actually doing the job.

Re: Road Works in Headley Road
- Scott (4th Nov 2025 10:10:32)

Who has moaned or whined about the holes D , no one, this was about supposed leftover signage that wasn't actually leftover as the work wasn't finished, and then an update to say the work was completed successfully and to a good standard. Yet again you want to turn a thread onto your own agenda, this time you still seem to be carrying a grudge about a topic from an event and thread from over a week ago....Shouldn't you be on shift anyway or do you only work when its inconvenient for you to get around Liphook?

Re: Road Works in Headley Road
- Local (4th Nov 2025 10:38:26)

D put a sock in it about the carnival it’s getting boring. You and your boss seem to be able to take a sicky anytime so next year get it in early and stay in bed carnival night with ear plugs. So we can all enjoy ourselves.

Re: Road Works in Headley Road
- Charlie (4th Nov 2025 13:35:46)

Thank you to Scott and Local - my sentiments exactly when I read D's post. Pot and Kettle - he is the one whining and just cannot let the road closures for the Carnival go. A year's notice and it is only once a year for an event that gives hundreds of people real enjoyment. What a very sad person D appears to be.
