Carnival committee - Jezz (26th Oct 2025 - 07:20:11)
I just want to say a huge thank you to the carnival committee for organising a great carnival last night. I thought some of. Your new fresh ideas were brilliant including the commentary of the carnival in station road which brought in many more people. I really appreciate all the effort that goes into running it.
As someone who took part it was lovely to see all the smiling faces of everyone having a really good time. A really good effort of all the people who took part. Thank you for keeping an old tradition going.

I rarely post here.
Just wanted to say that you and people like you are the reason we do it 🙏
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Here's to many more.
Kind regards
Maybe a committee member, maybe not (as not to excite the naysayers)
Yes I second that the carnival committee should be very proud to have put on the night carnival again. This little community of ours have managed to buck the trend of carnivals disappearing think we are the only ones still going around here for miles, the big one at Bridgewater Somerset is mind boggling but I think that’s the only other one so liphook should take pride in your achievements. Long may it continue and it’s free entertainment.

I agree.
I was driving the Liphook in Bloom float and it was obvious from a driving perspective that the detailed planning of the event enabled it to be enjoyed by the many spectators.

I can think of a few Russ - there is the internationally famous one in Lewes East Sussex and there is also one in Ringwood Hampshire which has one afternoon procession and then one more in the evening.
Didn’t know of those Joe but that’s good must try and go and see them. Been to Bridgewater it’s just unbelievable. We must try and keep ours going though this year it was definitely an improvement getting back to as it was but it’s the same with everything things change people get old and it looses some momentum but think things are getting there the new people on the committee new ideas must be good. The community should get behind them and support their ideas their the ones giving up their time for liphook thanks.

I read there's also a great buzzing one 45 miles away in a place called Notting Hill Gate!
