Weekend ideas - Scott (5th Sep 2025 - 10:08:51) Good Morning to everyone reading this. Have any of you any thoughts on what to do with this weekend? Here are a couple of ideas. How about a nice little 15 minute drive out to Selborne and visit Gilbert Whites House and gardens. Gather in a little bit of local culture from a worldly knowledgeable Naturalist and explorer. Historically the building itself is an interesting mix of architectural styles dating back almost 300 years from memory and whats inside is quite an interesting walkthrough and collection of facts and exhibits. Outside you have a great field walk with some ornate gardens and orchards. Its all very sedate and tranquil and perfect for getting a little calmer. 2nd idea is at the opposite end of the adrenaline spectrum! British Superbikes Championship at Donington Park Circuit.Granted , its a bit of a drive but is completely doable in a day or spend the weekend there. I say opposite end of the adrenaline spectrum as this is a high octane, highly exciting 2 wheeled motorcycling frenzy of 1000cc superbikes generally running very close together within a large pack. The championship is getting towards the end of the season with the 2 main protagonists this year within points of each other. Mr Kyle Ryde and Mr Bradley Ray are exceptional at racecraft and controlling the 235+bhp modern motorcycle missiles. Honestly, my passion and excitement for this championship is unparalleled and widely recognised as the best domestic motorcycle champs globally. Trust me, if you want to be patriotic and see others flags or fly your own you will not be alone as there is always an abundance of St Georges crosses and Union Jacks, alongside team banners and the occasional skull and crossbones to keep you pirate , plundering marauders happy too.
