Walk around Liphook
- Scott (4th Sep 2025 11:21:35)

Morning all

The dog and I did our hour long walk around Liphook and Lowsley Farm reserve this morning in the sunshine and in between the showers.

Such a lovely experience again, people saying good morning and smiling at each other and ready to shoot the breeze as they say.

Aren't we in a beautiful part of Hampshire with so much open space around and open hearted people to mix with from all walks of life. Its much better than an inner city with litter everywhere and thousands of high rises and few green spaces.

Thank you so much to Liphook in Bloom and the regular litter pick events, its much appreciated and helps keep it all looking very Liphook and a pleasure to wander around.

Biggup Liphook and its residents👏🙌

Biggup Liphook in bloom👏🙌

What an ace start to the day😊

Thanks David, or Should I write D as I expect its you and you finally came out enough to add the rest of the letters to your initial. Great disguise fella if its you. I'm rooting for you✌️
Anyhow, if your not one and the same my apologies. Still, come along and enjoy the positive party, its really quite pleasant.
We can't fix all the wrongs in the world from here but we can certainly find enjoyment in little things everyday.

Peace and love to all✌️😊

Hi,

As there was the great North Run today, and raising money for good causes. Why do we not design a course around Liphook in the countryside (13.1 miles, 21.8km), for the "Great South East Run"
A safe route from our area is possible, and for all groups and ages.

Will take some organizing, and getting Sponsorship from businesses

Maybe some retired folk, could assist in starting-up skills. Also contacts with the commercial community.

Would put Liphook "on-the-map" for good for all one.

Hi Paul

That is a really good idea. Exactly the kind of positive thinking that Liphook needs.
Its a fairly low impact sport on the environment and as you say, plenty of miles around a variety of routes all with Liphook as the central point so it shouldn't be too difficult to pick out a suitable course.
I would imagine even locally there would be plenty of running groups that would love to be involved in the early stages. A community event at first but I reckon it could soon grow into an impressive event with runners coming from much further afield.

I'm sure there would need to be some approval needed from relevant councils or land owners if applicable but anything is possible and can be achieved with the right knowledge and people to carry out the legal side.

And what an opportunity to get locals and businesses potentially involved in something that could really benefit an be a positive talking point for Liphook.

Its a lovely idea👍

There used to be a Cycle Ride that raise over a £1,000,000 for the village, which brought hundreds to the village
