Private GP - any recommendations local to liphook?
- The Kippax (24th Aug 2025 13:38:36)
I need to see a GP 'In Real Life', so I think it is time to go private.
The Swan Group is no longer about getting to see an actual GP, in my recent experience, I am sure for all sorts of good reasons.
Google suggests a few local providers, but it would be nice to have a recommendation. Any suggestions?
Thanks in anticipation.

Always worth remembering that should you ever go down with a costly condition such as stage four cancer the cost of the treatment would make private treatment prohibitively expensive so you will be back with the good old NHS anyway. Goes for health insurance too, they won't treat everything. Personally I'm sick and tired of this constant NHS/GP bashing. Do people move into Liphook expecting to have a 1950's style health service where Nurse Gladys comes out to see you on her bicycle and Dr Foster comes out to you in his Austin 7? Get real for f*** sake.

D - Regardless of why someone decides to private they should be thanked as it leaves more of the limited NHS budget for those that cannot or choose not to go private.

Hi all,
for us as a family we have no problem with our station road surgery. Swan medical group. Top marks for all the team there.
Enjoy the sunshine. (Someone will moan).

In larger urban // city areas such as Bristol its just £10 to visit a GP privately.
How do I know this because a family member is a GP located there....
lots of competition it just gets you further up the ladder & you can opt for NHS treatment when it becomes complex ( expensive ) and its great care when its complex!
Rightly or wrongly that's how it works.
Face it, if you just got of a small boat without ID you'd be first in the queue.

AF, I've nothing against private healthcare at all, it's used by the NHS all the time. I'm merely pointing out that cost is more of an issue with private (unless the NHS are paying them if course.)
