But back to the subject of robbing the South to fund the North: This socialist political gimmick will ultimately disadvantage the North; No economy ever has turned out to be a sustainable success on the dole. The North's economy will thrive on Northern revenue, not begging the South for pity money nor stealing other regions' local money.

I don't understand how some people are so determined to pick a team in politics, it's not football guys you can change your mind. If any of you are satified with UK politics over the last 10 years, then I'd like to know what you have been drinking.

Our politicians have all been living in a fantasy world, racing up debts they can't pay and bribing the voters to elect them by beggering the future. As a country we now spend more on debt interest than in almost anything. The COVID nonsense didn't help but even before that it was heading towards an unsustainable level of debt. To quote Churchill "I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle"
