UK Clothing Caravan Ltd - Doorstep Clothing Collection (20 June 2025)
- Paul2 (20th Jun 2025 - 08:32:51)

Yet another 'clothing collection' and again with a seemingly honourable 'Children with Cancer UK' sticker. Pandering with the message 'Every day, 10 families are told their child has cancer'.

Before you give anything to these doorstep beggars, please do some research and decide if you wish to support a private limited company with a purpose of generating profit.

For those who maybe don't have time, let me provide a summary of publicly availably facts from Companies House on UK Clothing Caravan Limited:

It is owned by one individual, a Mr Ramunas Butkas, a Lithuanian national
There is only 1 share, of a £1 value - meaning Mr Butkas benefits from all the dividend profit
The Ltd Co has retained earnings of £1,088,470.00 (2024)

Please think very careful about what charities you may support, and by what process.

To be fair to them, all charities effectively work for profit.

This 'profit' pays the CEO down to the street chuggers.

On average around 40% of any money you donate to a major charity goes for good work. The balance is used to pay 'costs'.

Charity is not what it used to be.

If you want to be charitable I would recommend looking at local organisations, for instance the laundry and day care centre where your donation will be used much more efficiently without making an executive richer in the process.

Please mention any other deserving local charities below:

Agree with Editor - the overarching charity Children with Cancer UK (not the Ltd Co collecting) published accounts show they spend a fraction under £2,000,000.00 per annum on salaries.

I was always told charity begins at home, so would encourage anyone minded to help to look for local charities and projects and to do some basic research or questioning before donating.

I think the tantum trust shop in Liphook are always grateful for donations.
