ORB Property Services have done work for me recently and I am over the moon with the work and with them. They are professional, conscientious and one of the reasons I chose them is because they are Trading Standards approved. They just seem to go that extra mile with excellent customer service.

Re: Builders - h (18th Feb 2012 - 10:53:45) I have had a quote from one of the two local builders mentioned and it was more than 4 times expensive than the person I used, and I was very satisfied with the result. I would always encourage people to get at least 3 quotes, especially if it is not an emergency. Somertimes it is friends and family making recommendations on here!

Re: Builders - Jay W (18th Feb 2012 - 17:24:55) Think I've said before under a different thread that we have used Stuart J Finch builders from Bordon. Came up with lots of good ideas for our garage conversion and price was comparable to other quotes. We have been happy with the work they have carried out including the way they dealt with our queries and concerns. Just a few more bits to finish off now and then we are done! We are not family and nor were we friends but they have given us some laughs over the last few weeks with their singing and dancing and the dog loves them too! Very happy to leave them in the house to get on with their jobs. They are on checkatrade and you can get all the contact details from there - or on google.

Re: Builders - Chris (22nd Feb 2012 - 20:31:08) Before you use any trade why don't you ask for a selection of previous local clients who have had the particular work completed that you require and then choose yourself from those details given to statisfy yourself as best you can. There are plenty of good local builders and sometimes there are a few bad ones. There are plenty of 'schemes' available, some of which are for the sole benefit of the business and some which are for decent trades people trying to distinguish their business from the bad. You will always find cheaper quotes and invaribly the extras soon add up. You need to check that any quote you get is on a like for like basis with both the labour and quality of materials. Some of these recommendations are probably put on here by friends etc, but some are not. They could by chance be true as not every builder is a con artist. Good local builders would soon be out of business if they were rubbish. Some of these negative remarks could also be by rogue customers as they do also exist! Good luck in your choice.
