Local traffic incidents
- Editor (16th Feb 2012 - 17:01:17)

We have just added Local Traffic Incidents to the home page of this site, which is actually a filtered feed from www.romanse.org.uk which we have custom created from their 'tweets'.

It is currently set to display any incidents referencing Liphook, Ham Barn, Hindhead or Petersfield.

Will this include traffic hold ups on the A3 or is it something to with accidents?

Re: Local traffic incidents
- Editor (16th Feb 2012 - 20:12:50)

Yes, it includes holdups on the A3, which \'romanse\' become aware of, often caused by breakdowns or accidents.

That will be really useful - wish it could be accessed on the sidebar of the talkback page as that is the main one I look at!

think my wife will raise an eyebrow if she sees www.romanse.org.uk in my browsing history! (albeit wrongly spelt!)

"Local Traffic" has been added to the left hand menu for you.

But we would encourage you all to view the home page (clicking the top left "Liphook" banner will do it) so you can see any adverts for local events.

That is going to be so useful - thank you!

Can we have rail news page too

Your wish is my command - as they say !

I've now added a 'Local Trains' page which reads the National Rail twitter feed and displays related tweets.

It also includes the live departure board information for Liphook station.

what are the chances of road closures road works on this site
discovered roasd closed from whitleys both ways to lindford was there any advanced warning?

I've been trying to tie up with roadworks.org, but the current format of their data and the random time scales they quote make it pretty hit and miss.

Some road closures get onto the Parish website bramshottandliphook-pc.gov.uk/news/traffic-emergency

Re: Local traffic incidents

For example - this can found on the Elgin website (roadworks.org)- but not linked to..

B3004 Standford Lane, Standford, Bordon, Hampshire

Work in progress
16/02/2012 to 02/03/2012 (estimated)
Moderate impact on journey time
Road closure
Responsibility for these works: Hampshire County Council
Last updated on Elgin: 14:05 on 22/02/2012

Is there any chance you can add surrey onto this to include A3 northbound. Hindhead. Hsslemere. Guilford etc? Please.

Re: Local traffic incidents
- Editor (14th Mar 2012 - 08:37:22)

At the moment Surrey do not appear to publish 'live' data about traffic jams in a format that we can automatically pick up, sort the ones we are interested in, and display.

We are in contact with them though.
