Badger culling - David Gee (19th Apr 2025 22:57:06)
I am new to the area and wondered if anyone knows of any badger culling societies locally? Ideally humane in their approach, and registered officially. Many thanks.

Why do you want to kill badgers? Expect a lot of very negative reactions from Talkbackers.
I have a friend who as a leading vet gave expert evidence to a government enquiry on badger culling. He says the link between badgers and bovine TB is not proven.

Most of the field around Liphook are used for crops and not for animals.
No Badger Culling society ~ TB not proven to be spread by Badgers ~ leave the country to manage itself as it has done for centuries ....

I think “countryman” Just wants an excuse to kill things. There are not that many commercial herds of cows around here anyway. As other posters have said the link is not proven.

David, if you need to do hunting i suggest you get a gun and go for foxes which are vermin, and we have far too many deer so a few of them need shooting, they also taste good and lastly the odd squirrel which tastes like chicken.
Leave the badgers alone.

If TB is spread (not caused by, but spread) between herds by badgers, shouldn't the farmers have better hygiene for their stock to prevent the tb in the first place? Sounds to me Brock is being made a scapegoat here.
