Have you tried checking the local newspapers, or the jobcentre+ website (where I regularly come across advertisments for chefs locally)..
This is the 3rd thread in which i've seen you asking for a chefs job locally.. I believe the custom these days is for employers to advertise jobs, rather than employees to advertise their job-seeking?! !

There are one or two of adverts for Kitchen / Chef work in this weeks Petersfield Post.
Hope that is of some help.

This gentleman is obviously actively seeking employment any which way he can. There is no trend these days in how you obtain employment. He is using his initiative and not just sitting back waiting for a job to come to him. Maybe he has been advised to do this by the job centre! Don't knock the bloke for trying.

The job market is bad at the moment and jobs are gone before adverts are even published. He is trying to work at least and should be encouraged. He had said in his posting not chefs work.

I'm not knocking him! Besides at least someone is replying to his thread now - as all the others have been ignored! I know how tough it is job hunting out there - hence why I frequent the jobcentre+ website so often - it was a genuine suggestion of somewhere to look!
Sorry, I just saw 'catering' and associated with 'chef' but i often see catering jobs on there aswell :-) good luck!
Incidently, I also have 16+ years experience of washing up!
