Dog Mess
- kelly (21st Jan 2012 - 21:00:45)

Thanks inconsiderate dog owners. My daughter spent the day with dog mess all over her shoes and tights yesterday, walked it into the infants school. I dread to think how many other children took some home with them, as we all know children crawl around floors, put hands / fingers in their mouths. Makes me feel sick.

I know posts about this issue come up time and time again. The problem seems to get worse, never better. I notice a new habbit in the making, dog owners bagging up the poo and then dropping the bag full of poo on the pavement - what's the point!?!

It is awful that dog owners can't be bothered to clear up after there dogs, I've have also seen many bags filled with poo on the ground.
You allowed your child to spend the whole day at school covered in dog poo? What is wrong with you woman? Couldn't you off taken your child into school and cleaned her shoes and explained what happened and asked to borrow a pair of tights, trousers or socks? I have a child in the infants and I know that the school do have a lost property box, maybe you could have borrowed something out of that or taken her home to change or couldn't she of worn her PE kit for the day. As you said children put hands in mouths and you sent your child to school covered in dog poo for other kids to touch.

I didn't knowingly let my daughter spend the day with dogs mess on her clothes - I'm not stupid!! She was walked to school by a friend on friday morning who I'll have to assume didn't notice. I quizzed my daughter when I noticed as I thought it must have been evident to the teacher, teaching assistant, dinner ladies and anyone else that came into contact with her that day. My daughter told me that 3 or 4 of the other children in the class were fussing about it - telling her that they didn't want to be her friend because she was smelly which to a 5 year old is a big deal and she told the teachers about it who didn't do a thing. Let's not get on to how good or bad the school teachers are though - totally different issue and one I wouldn't care to start debate over on here!

I agree there is a really bad dog mess problem on the school route ! through the whole of the mead , tunbridge cresent, headley road and the avenue, its disgusting , we have spotted a few culprits and there is a collie dog owner who may like to pick up some poo! .

I too would like to echo what has been said on this site time and time again about this issue which, quite frankly, seems to be getting worse! My daughter recently started school and we really looked forward to being able to walk to school together but our morning and afternoon walks are like an obstacle course! No longer can I concentrate fully on our conversation or enjoy the nice walk that we have as instead I have to had my head down looking at the pavement at all times just to try and avoid stepping in, or pushing the pram through, dog mess! The trouble is, I've never seen it actually happen so haven't been able to confront anyone. If I do, I will! The problem roads we have the routes around the park, Tower Road and the Headly Road. Only last month did we visit the new play park and within 5 minutes of being there my daughter had trodden in a pile of dog mess (which was INSIDE the fenced off play area) What is wrong with these people??!!
