Cricket
- Simon (11th Jan 2006 - 14:00:45)

Does anyone know of any weekend/social cricket clubs in the area? i.e. ones that play for fun, and dont train every day :) And if so, if they have winter net sessions, and where?

thanks in advance

Hi

Try any of the following, they play in the A'anson league in the summer on a Saturday but run winter nets. It is nothing pro but is a league but played with fun and a bit of competitiveness

Headley CC
Lindford CC
Grayshott CC
Elstead CC
Thursley CC
Churt CC

Hope this helps

Mark

...and there's always Lynchmere Cricket Club which plays on a Saturday or a Sunday and is a very friendly place, set in absolutely gorgeous grounds.

Simon

I have not been to have a look at the Liphook site for a while, which is sad because I am a bit surprised that no one suggested Liphook and Ripsley CC to you. We have four Saturday sides that all play league cricket but accommodating a wide range of abilities. We have youth teams at all age groups providing cricket for about 140 children and we have a Sunday side that plays friendlies throughout the season.

Our indoor nets start this coming Sunday afternoon (26th February) at Mill Chase school in Bordon. Once the season starts we have an adult practice evening on Thursdays, but it is not compulsory.

I agree that Lynchmere is a lovely setting but because I am biased I believe that our home ground, Ripsley Park, is even lovelier.

If you want to get in touch (02072102622 work) I would be happy to give further details.

Laurence
