CATS EYES ON SLIP ROAD
- NICK MASTERS (11th Jan 2012 - 15:46:35)

Is it just me!! but the cats eyes and the road markings on the slip road off and on the A3 north & south, just do not work,
can the parish council look at this or is it the highways lot.

There is now a sign up saying slip road closed at the end of the month at night can we hope this problem will be fixed ?

The slip road off the A3 into Liphook is appalling . It needs all white lines repainted and the cats eyes replaced. There is a horrid line in the tarmac that throws the car around. It is getting dangerous so lets hope they are going to sort it out.

I agree that those slip roads are a serious hazard unless you know the road well. It is almost impossible to work out how the road bends - if you can see the sliproad off the A3 at all in the murk. It's one of the worst cases of badly maintained and badly marked slip road off an A road I have seen in the UK.

The ones on Longmoor Road at the Griggs Green end are really poor as well, along with the road markings!

I have contacted the Highways Agency about this issue because I agree its currently very dangerous at night.

Their agent has replied, very promptly, to advise that subject to the availability of funds the lines should be repainted by 31st March 2012. The other marking (cats eyes) will be done at a later date.

I have also reported the poor road markings / cats eyes and overgrown trees at Longmoor Road today. Bit early for a reply as just done. - Will update when I receive one.
