Structural Engineer needed - Debbie (9th Jan 2012 - 20:00:53) I wonder if anybody can help us, we need a structural engineer to take a look at our garage as we are converting it to playroom and we need to know what sort of supports etc we will need. If you could recommend someone who won't charge us the earth that would be wonderful! Thank you.

We are using S J Finch builders (Stuart) on 01420 474460 (see also Check a trade) and they arranged for the structural engineer to do the calculations for a pitch roof replacing existing flat roof. The fee we have paid to Stuart for the structural engineer's calculations is £90. You could ring Stuart and ask for the engineer's details if you didn't also need the builders.
