Front Page of the Liphook Herald
- Finchie (23rd Dec 2011 - 08:08:17)

Great story about the Launderette and fab Christmas news.

BUT Very Concerning ...

I see a picture of "Santa Clause" on the front page with our Liphook infants. Firstly who is Santa Clause - It's Father Christmas (or has political correctness gone mad) !

Secondly, Mini Finchie pointed out. "Father Christmas is WEARING GLASSES". Mini Finchie is now questioning whether that was the real Father Christmas as he said he doesn't normally wear glasses. Quite frankly, I agree with him, and I'm now starting to have doubts myself.

Looking back over the years, I am starting to see a pattern emerging. Many different shapes, sizes, colours and accents. Short beards, long beards, rubbish beards. Wellingtons, trainers, shoes. Please tell me it's not true.

If that's the case, yet again we see one eyed distortion of the truth by the Liphook Herald. I demand an investigation because if the story is found to be a pack of lies and it's not really Father Christmas - where does that leave their credibility ?!

Actually, thinking about it, let's gloss over it, as if it is not Father Christmas the amount of mental scarring I would incure, let alone untold damage to Mini Finchie, is not worth thinking about.

Wishing you all a very MERRY Christmas and lucky New Year !

Cheers, Finchie & Family

How could you doubt it was not the real Father Christmas. Mini Finchie must realise that Father Christmas is getting rather old He has been coming to the infant school for years that’s why this year he had to wear glasses and I, being the biggest elf, came along to help him with his duties.

Father Christmas wishes you all a very merry Christmas especially mini Finchie and tell him not to forget to leave him a mince pie and a carrot for the reindeer.

Happy Christmas Big Elf.

Fear not Finchie for I have seen the real deal.

Despite his punishing schedule, he once again found time to attend the Village Square Carol Festival. Having led the singing from the choir of L.A.M.P.S accompanied by the Liss Band and, what appeared to be the entire population of Liphook, who were seen stuffing the rattling tins in aid of the Community Laundry, he made his exit up a chimney which was then ushered to the darker reaches of the back yard of 'The Hungry Horse' ably assisted by members of the Liphook Fire Brigade, who know a thing or two about chimneys!

Now, believe me, these worthy no-nonsense firemen are beyond reproach and I am sure that if you ask any of them they will verify the existence of Father Christmas.

'nuff said

Happy Christmas all here

Paul Robinson
