Merry Christmas Liphook
- Katy Clarke (21st Dec 2011 - 17:39:59)

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all residents of Liphook and to remind everyone what a great place Liphook is!

Here are my top ten reasons to be proud to live here, please add yours too!

1. The Community Support Laundry new committee has managed to save the laundry from being closed with the FANTASTIC support from residents and businesses alike, some contributions include £1650 from Greenbanks Homes, £1000 from the Parish Council, £250 from Lidba, £600 from the Carnival Committee, £300 from Castelgar, £560 from the Royal Anchor, £230 from the members of Liphook in Bloom, £500 promised from Liphook care plus individual and anonymous donations from £10 to £500.

2. Liphook in Bloom, flowers in summer, Christmas lights in Winter, all volunteers!!!

3. The Peak Centre, a fantastic facility for the elderly providing lunch and company three days a week.

4. The Anchor, The Links, The Green Dragon and The Deers Hut, all providing the weary traveller with refreshments.

5. Carols round the tree at the Anchor with santa and the fire brigade, fat boys, Links mulled wine, Sainsburys mince pies.

6. The Anglican Church, Methodist Church, Catholic Church, and others providing comfort and joy for all over Christmas.

7. Sainsburys, love it or hate it they do more for the community than you probably think.

8. Lidba, the annual charity bike ride has raised thousands over the years to help charities large and small.

9. The Carnival. What a fantastic night with fireworks, floats, music and a fairground, well done Karen and the team.

10. Liphook.co.uk to allow us all to moan!!!

I have run out of space for Liphook United, all the shops, Old Thorns, Champneys, Liphook Voluntary Care, Liphook Mag etc etc so please join in my message of good will to all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Katy

PS Sorry for any spelling mistakes, I have had a glass of champagne to celebrate all that is good in Liphook!
