Parish Council Pantomime
- Michael (21st Dec 2011 - 07:30:16)
Went to the Christmas carols (Monday) in the square and saw parish councillors singing in harmony. Went to parish council meeting (Tuesday) to see the parish council is far from harmonous and definatly not singing from same hymn sheet.
With bitching and biting (and yes ED even you got a mention) the councillors who now have to hold there name card aloft all the time they are speaking were all acting as if they are auditioning for the Panto!
The thing that stuck with me after leaving is how much is being spent on solicitors, numerous hours @ £200 per hour (or £250 depending on which aquaintance of Councilor Jerrard is being used) plus more than £900 in mileage expenses from said solicitors so far.
Add this to the money being spent on our Parish clerk (currently on gardening leave) and with us now having to employ a locum clerk, there seems to be a lot of our money being wasted, money that could be spent on good causes within the parish.
I for one would like all our parish councillors to take time over the Christmas break and have a think about who they are serving, they should be in this for our benefit not there own importance gain.
So at the meeting after Christmas i would like them all to forget their political differences and us all to hear them say "Its behind you" and get on with pushing our community forward.
On a positive note Dawn Hoskins is still working hard on our Dog mess problem, thanks for that.

I am really keen to hear what's going on with the dog mess problem, Dawn can you update us?
The rest of it sounds awful. I can not believe that this continues to go on.
