Bramshott & Liphook
- John Stone (18th Nov 2005 - 12:10:05)
Hi Everyone,
My wife, Yvonne, & I moved to Bramshott in September and have been very happy here and feel it has been the right move for us.
But as the time has past by I can't help feeling a little isolated from the activities in our neighbouring town Liphook. With no free local papers being available in either town and, for some reason, the Liphook Magazine isn't distributed in Bramshott either it would seem the only source of local news is the Liphook Times.
As I am sure you are all aware that Bramshott is a small place with about 200 homes and a church. No local shops that I know of and so the only local amenities are in Liphook. Our shops, entertainment and clubs are all in Liphook, so why is it that one of the main sources of local news, The Liphook Magazine, isn't distributed to Bramshott residence? With a distribution of 3800 I am sure it could be possible to add a couple of hundred more.
Best regards to you all, John & Yvonne.

Hi,
I have no idea why you don't get the Liphook Magazine delivered, but I can tell you that there are in fact 2 free local papers in Liphook. The Liphook Mail and the Messenger. Perhaps you should volunteer to deliver them in Bramshott??

You can buy the Liphook Herald for 50p (weekly) - wider area news plus local events/clubs businesses etc.

Hello, John -
Call Mrs Mary Wilson on 01428 722464. Mary is the Production Editor of the magazine and is married to John, who is the editor of the magazine.
This is the first time I've been made aware of lack of deliveries in Bramshott. May be that one of the volunteers who deliver the magazine has been unwell and unable to deliver as normal.
Copies are always available in the Parish Office, The Haskell Centre, top of Midhurst Road behind new Lloyds Chemists.

Freddie Dawkins
Parish Councillor (and occasional Parish rep to the Community Magazine committee).
