5-15pm only 80 voted so far
- Irene & Russ (8th Dec 2011 - 17:47:31)
5-15pm and we have just been to vote and could not believe only 80 other people had been. Just shows you how concerned the residents of Liphook are about what goes on in our lovely village.Come on get and vote or you have no right to complain.

Is it any wonder people won't vote when you either get hassled, shouted at or mocked for whoever you vote for and all that seems to happen is that once someone is or isn't voted in the rest of the candidates and their allies spend the next 12 months letting everyone know either old, out of date, fairy tale stories or in even in a couple of cases the truth!!! We live in a place that has been taken over by people who think they have the right to say what happens here when to be honest they only care about themselves!!! I'm running in the next couple of years so if you can start creating stories about me now they will be ready for my pre election in 2014!!!

Is it any wonder that no one wanted to vote!. Anybody having read these posts will have found it incredulous that these people are actually asking us to vote for them. The fighting, and vindictive behaviour is appalling. Not one of you in my opinion should be standing for the parish council. Stand back and look what you have all done by airing this nasty business on this site. For the first time in thirty five years you have taken away my wish to a vote. Thank you so much! My great grandparents who lived in this village, would turn in their graves to see such goings on. We also really have a perfectly good library, no need for another. I spent some time going to school there and it is a lovely building. New is not always better.

well said. I Stopped voting for a long time. in my opinion every one just seemed to be interested in there own gains.
if anyone considering moving to liphook and reading the things that are put on this site, they would run a mile.
its a shame because its a lovely village to live in. but a few people have to spoil it by petty arguments.
we should all count our blessings and start thinking about other people who have real problems.

If you don't vote you have no right to complain. Maybe the candidates aren't everything you would choose but abstaining won't solve anything. If you feel you can do a better job, stand up and be counted or else go and see those who are elected and discuss what you want from them
It makes me angry when people don't vote, women died to give you that vote, you are disprespecting their memory. They WILL be turning in their graves.

First time in my life I did not vote!! These people should had kept their arguments off this very public forum. Of course it would have put people off voting !!

I agree with Susan!!
There are people in quite a few countries dying right now because they're protesting about wanting democracy and the right to vote.
I think everybody should vote...to say you won't be doing it just because a few eccentric locals are argumentative on this forum is ridiculous.
Anybody used to reading internet forums will know that Liphook.co is really quite 'tame' ...
