Thinking of moving to Liphook
- Cath (7th Dec 2011 - 21:38:25)

I have just read some of the latest threads on this site. It makes Liphook sound like a back biting, nasty, violent and awful place. I have lived here for a few years now and would hate anyone considering moving to Liphook think that this is what Liphook is like. I moved from London and find it a safe, friendly, welcoming community. I have two small children who socialise locally and we have found lovely people and an amazing array of activities for the size of the village.
I find some of the posts on this website really helpful but must say other people should really be ashamed of the things they write. Thinking of moving to Liphook? We love it here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

You think the latest threads on this site are bad, attend a parish council meeting!

That is why you should vote in the parish council by-election today (8th of December) for “Philip Jordan”…still no comment on the others running.

I wouldnt pay it much attention Cath, that sort of behaviour is there if you want to get involved in it.

I grew up in Liphook and lived there for 35 years. I've been in Bordon for the last 6 years and would love to move back. Sometimes you just have to count your blessings. Bordons not the worst but its just not Liphook!

Liphook is a great place and probably no different in its machinations than any other small town/large village. The sort of thing that you see displayed in the talkback section of the website (something that most places do not have bythe way) that may be disturbing hardly warrants any more than a giggle. Some of the intrigue is more Miss Marple than East-end gangland and even the issue with the parish council and the Newman vs Trodden exchanges is frankly just laughable as opposed to being a serious cause for concern.

Hi, i lived in Liphook for over 35 years, then moved to the west country, unable to settle here, as lovely as the area is, it is not Liphook, so i am in the process of moving back, i have just signed the contracts for the new house, and i hope to be back in the village for the new year.

Hi,

It's never a perfect world!
How many decent people decide to live in Liphook for many years.
If it was that bad, alot of the people would have moved on long ago.
In any open community of people, we have to live with the rough with the smooth.

I know I would rather live here, than some inner city problem area.

Enjoy!

We have been living in Liphook since 2007 and we love it here and we can not imagine living anywhere else

we moved from Hillbrow /Liss to here and it has been the best thing for our family

Liphook has alot going for it and we certainly hope to be in Liphook for many years to come
