no itv channels from 9pm yesterday, could it be to do with the change over ,have got them on freesat .

Re: freeview
- Eneida (21st Nov 2011 - 09:28:35)

With the exception of the BBC ones, we lost all our freeview channels from about 6.30 pm yesterday...

Re: freeview

Don't know if its part of the official changeover but you will need to retune to get your ITV channels back.

Re: freeview
- Kelly (21st Nov 2011 - 13:37:03)

We have been unable to get any of the ITV/Channel 4 channels for months now, and if they do appear they are very broken and not really watchable. We are just hoping that the signal will improve with the change over ...

Re: freeview

We've not had any itv or c4 channels since Saturday.. Thought retuning might help but actually they have now disappeared completely! Not happy!!

Same problem here, we are pointing at Hannington transmitter

Re: freeview

Freeview will continue to break up freeze etc whilst fine tuning is carried out on the transmitters having experienced this in the west country i had to put up with it for the 4-5 mnths prior to official switch over in feb 2012 Having more than 1 box i used to retune one of them to see what was what and if i lost channels left the other one alone and used the other one to ascertain if channels had been moved
so iam afraid one will have to patient and except the breaks in service till the officail switch over
read the information leaflet that was sent out last week this gives a breakdown on what transmitter you use hannington at mo is being worked on

Re: freeview

We are also pointing at the Hannington transmitter and have had to retune at the w/e to get our non-BBC channels back. Neighbours have done the same.

Our freeview reception has been good. Our aerial is pointing at the Midhurst transmitter.

Here is a link to a site where you can type in your postcode and see which transmitter is nearest to you:

www.ukfree.tv/...

Here are the transmitter distances from central liphook postcode area:

Hannington - 24.8 miles
Guildford - 13.4 miles
Midhurst - 6.2 miles

The Hannington transmitter is much more powerful than Midhurst. In many parts of Liphook it is a stronger signal. Aerial points roughly in exactly the opposite diection from Midhurst.

Is anyone still having problems? I have retuned the TV several times and still no ITV or Channel 4 stations via freeview.

Re: freeview
- Andrew (2nd Dec 2011 - 15:06:51)

I live in Headley Road and we lost all ITV channels and channel 5 a few months ago.

I have replaced my ariel but no luck. I can re-tune the box minutes apart and receive totally different results, sometimes 70 channels tune in and 30 seconds later 10 but still no ITV/Channel 5. weird!

I don't know if this is true but a TV Engineer told me that the Freeview signal will increase by 7 times in February when the transmitter is upgraded but I am not sure if that is just one transmitter or all of them

Best get a dish!

Andrew

I can recommend Freesat as an alternative to freeview. I couldn't stand the freeview issue and whoever is implementing the change should be doing better than they are if you've lost itv altogether

....29.12.2011....Just lost ITV 1 and Channels 4 and 5 on freeview. I live in Victoria Way, Liphook. Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: freeview
- Lynda (29th Dec 2011 - 22:32:13)

I live in Malthouse Meadows and have had nothing but problems with my signal for weeks. Most weekends, we cannot get a signal, even having problems with BBC. having to watch a very poor analogue picture.

It's a conspiracy! They want us all to move to Sky! And funnily enough, the ad at the bottom of this thread is one for skyTV....
