Thank you for the link to the Dog Lost site. For clarification, Reggie was not wearing the harness shown in the photo when he disappeared, just a brown leather collar and tag.
Please keep looking and many thanks for all the messages of support.

the dog warden use Firhill Kennels , it may be worth phoning them. he could easily have shed his collar and chips do move meaning they can get missed when scanning.
My heart goes out to you it is so awful when pets go missing.

Thanks Claire
I've been in touch with lots of the local kennels, vets and dog wardens in Surrey, Hants and West Sussex. Also there are posters everywhere, including the local golf courses, health spas, garden centres etc. and dog walking areas. Also, he is registered on the main internet lost dog sites. The main problem is it is such a big potential area and there have been no positive sightings anywhere to focus the search.
Reggie is a very shy dog and unlikely to approach strangers.
Many thanks to all who are still looking.

Sad to report that we recovered Reggie's body from the grass verge of the A3 this morning. He had obviously been hit by a vehicle and died some time ago, probably around the time he disappeared. He was lying in the long grass, where he was spotted by a cyclist, to whom we are very grateful for informing us.
A huge thank you to all the dog walkers and well-wishers, who searched for him and sent messages of support.

Eilidh
So very sad to hear your news, and appreciate how difficult it can be to lose a much loved pet. A small comfort maybe, but at least you can stop searching which is very hard I know

I was so very sorry to read about Reggie, and as a dog owner, I can only imagine how you are feeling.
