Drum kit for sale

My son is raising money to go on a school sports tuor to USA playing basketball.
He has thererfore decided to sell his much loved drum kit.
Full size drum kit, includes 3 symbols and dampers!

Don't know much about drum sets, other than my 7 year old wants one!! HELP.....
Do you think this set would be suitable for a novice 7 year old and then possibly his 49 year old father who will not be able to resist!?
I would be interested! You know how to get hold of me don't you!?
