Liphook in Bloom-volunters invited the bulb planting. - Philip Jordan (2nd Nov 2011 - 16:51:18)
With the Carnival now over the flowerbeds have been prepared and are ready for planting the spring display of bulbs and annuals.
The LiB volunteers will be out this Saturday and Sunday morning and would very much welcome all those willing to come along and help.
The greater the numbers the sooner the job is done. We gather each morning at 9.30 in the Midhurst Road car park. All you will need is a trowel, may be gloves and enthusisam to help make the village look at its best next spring.
If you are unable to come along this weekend then perhaps you could help with the planting of our recycled daffs from last year. On Sarturday 19th November we will be in London Road near to the Radford Park gate.
No matter if you can only spare an hour your help will be much appreciated.

Hi May
The flower beds are a mix of those alongside very busy roads, for example the Square and some safer places such as at the Millennium Hall.
I would not recommend a six year old helping in the Square even under close supervision. However a youngster's presence at a safer flower bed would be possible.
Clearly we welcome your interest and help but must ask that you supervise the youngster and at suitable location.

Hello,May did wonder whether your young Son would like to help with the planting of the roundalls at the top of Manorfields on the grass area in front of the bungalows. These have been planted each year by Children for Liphook in Bloom.Unfortunately the children who used to help have either left the area or not able to help anymore. We intend to plant Saturday 12th November at 10a.m. so please come along if you think he would like to help the area is safe and off the main road so that is why children have helped in the past few years.Anne Hall
