ARSON-£10,000 reward - Jock Trodden (19th Oct 2011 - 18:33:07) My family and I have recently been subjected to 6 separate attacks of arson upon our property culminating in a loss to my insurers and I of approximately £250,000. I have lost 5 fully tooled up large work vans, one £75,000 Mercedes camper and they poured petrol through the letterbox of my Grade 2 listed home and set it alight. I firmly believe the culprits to be from a family of local "gangsters" or travellers as I suspect they would prefer to be called. The most recent attack was in Curlew Gardens, Cowplain at 00:30 on Monday 17th October where a Transit van was totally destroyed and two cars parked either side and belonging to neighbours, were also severely damaged. One Mercedes van was destroyed in Longmoor Road. My crime? I reported several “travellers” of unacceptable, anti social and criminal behaviour, which no one could possibly have endured for long, to the authorities. I am offering a £10,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the thugs responsible. On 11th Feb 2011 at 21:39:03 Roger Chatterton Newman, supporting his brother on this site, wrote “Or, one wonders, are certain people with petty minds and vendettas involved? Come on, Liphook, you are not Chicago: get a grip on reality for once.” We have our fair share of vicious, vindictive and cowardly people living near and among us in Liphook, Whitehill and Runfold and we ignore their threats at our peril. Sadly, I can't help you pinpoint the culprits - I am a newcomer to Liphook myself so don't know much about local families/criminal elements, but I want to let you know that you have support. I can't begin to think how awful if it must be to narrowly avoid being burned to death in your own home.
