At the Royal Military Academy,Sandhurst the authorities regularly "cull" the excess birds.
I was given one once and cooked it but the flavour was very strong...could not eat it.

Mine is not a popular viewpoint I suspect, but the geese population needs managing, else it will likely cause problems elsewhere. I have heard of these birds descending upon arable fields and devastating the crop. Not what a farner needs in these times
