I have heard that the 250 bus service is going to be cut back to 3 mornings a week .ie ,mon ,weds ,fri .no afternoon service . is this correct.

I have been assured by the authorities that the bus will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm every day (Mon-Fri) Yes no afternoons. The new operator has not yet been announced but contracts have been drawn up.

Have heard nothing officially yet except rumours that yes the 250 is being cut back. I have heard though from Countryliner that they will no longer be the operator of this service, so until there is something more accurate to say I cannot confirm new timetables. There was a public consultation earlier in the year but the county council had to find savings in rural transport as their government subsidy for this was severely cut.

We have a bus? Does it go anywhere interesting like Haslemere town or Godalming?

If you want to see the new times in print see this weeks Herald lead article. They seem to know more than the local Council!

Seems a shame that the bus services gets cut back and back

you would think that with more developments happening in Liphook a decent bus service would be a good idea

but then thats what "think" did !

Is there a bus service to Petersfield from Liphook ?

Have heard on the grapevine that the current no 13 bus may be renumbered and will terminate at Basingstoke.

Another note there is now a bus stop at the junction of Hunters Chase ,Headley road both ways

Hi, I am a trainee journalist writing an article on the transport changes proposed around Liphook, and wondered if anyone could offer some views please on the 250 bus service?

I hear it is being scaled down and will be provided once again by AMK.

How will this affect bus users and does everyone support this?

Would be great to get some opinions.

Thankyou!

Whoever runs the bus service is irrelevant as it is HCC who have decided to cut rural bus services, the services which need the most subsidy obviously were the first target. It is services which go further afield which are needed, our only other service is to Alton. Where is your article going to be published?

Whilst i agree the bus services are very important, don't forget that we have a trainline in Liphook.

Some people have been asking if we have a bus to Haslemere or Petersfield the answer is probably no but we do have a trainline to those places.

Surley rather than doubling up covereage from buses and trains we would want to be looking at buses covering the non train routes, so Bordon, Headly / Headly down, Farnham, Alton & Midhurst etc

Re Train service, do you know how big the step is to get onto/off the Train going to Haslemere for the elderly, infirm etc? Also to go south only a stair case is available, also not elderly friendly.
As regards the 250 this is run now by AMK again. only 3 a day 9.30, 10.30,11.30 starting at the Railway Stn.
According to the authorities we have a bus service to Petersfield, Catch the bus to Alton and change to the one to Petersfield!! This only takes 2 and a half hours.
All these matters have been reported to the Parish Plan and are being investigated. There is a bus service to Haslemere provided you can walk to Linchmere to catch it. The Portsmouth bus terminates at Liss.
All because we are bounded by West Sussex, and neither county will contribute to each other!.
