REDH & Living Room Cinema
- Al (13th Mar 2023  17:46:52)

Anybody any idea as to when the brasserie attached to the living room cinema is going to be built or when the redh restaurant is going to happen in the old Countrywide store.
Last time I heard redh put the redevelopment on hold due to lack of funding, not surprised as they closed their Haslemere restaurant/store.

I do not have any inside knowledge but there was a plot of land sold recently next to the cinema which had planning permission for 2 houses and the restaurant what the new owners of the site do is anyone’s guess.

Al.

There isn’t a planned restaurant/bar next to the cinema. The land was up for sale with the permission granted for such establishment. Just needs someone to purchase it I suppose. The owner of the cinema has nothing to do with the surrounding land, they just own the cinema building.

Your next point about RedH. It isn’t happening anymore. So the attractive empty unit still stands.

The original planning permissions were gained by the owner of the cinema and she presented the plans in one go as a package. This has been separated now and recently sold on rightmove with the original planning permissions as a selling point.

Realistically any developments will focus on apartments and houses, as that's where developers make their money. I'm skeptical, but when the LR Cinema was touted it was a 'package' of cinema, bar, restaurant. Even then it seemed more likely that the developer would eventually put apartments and houses up instead.
