IT Help Requested
- Alan (1st Mar 2023 - 18:46:57)

Is there anyone who can help me restore my TalkTalk mail settings. I'm running Windows 8 and cannot find my incoming email settings to reset to the values, which I have printed off from TalkTalk.

Please call me on: 07973 187581

Hi Alan

Talk Talk Mail provide details on how to set up their email using an email client such as Outlook, which is presumably what you are talking about.

Details here:

community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/...

You really need to think about upgrading your operating system though, Microsoft ended general support for Windows 8 in 2016 and ended security support earlier this year.

So you are running an insecure operating system which is not a sensible thing to do if it is connected to the internet. Think of it like driving a car which is no longer under warranty (end of Windows 8 general support) and the manufacturer no longer makes brakes for the car (end of Windows 8 security).

You need to consider updating to Windows 10 or 11 if your hardware supports it. Alternatively there are Free and Open Source operating systems that you might want to consider.

Hope this helps
Darren
