Sainsburys Liphook carpark scam and theft.
- paul (3rd Feb 2023 - 11:09:42)

Hi,
A women from Headley, shopping at the supermarket yesterday (2nd), had her purse stolen from a car seat. £1000 was taken with cards from at Lloyds bank in the Square.

This was a distraction crime by an accomplice.

When returning to her car after shopping, and sitting in drivers seat to drive home, a well dressed and spoken man tap on her window.
She was told a black Mercedes had hit hear rear bumper whilst in the store and drove off. The women got out of the car to inspect, and found a black ink mark (probably a marker pen) on the surface. Then another person stole her purse from the front seat in a handbag.

This crime has been reported to the police, and the supermarket.

I'm so pleased you put this on here. Saw it first on Nextdoor, which website does NOT like you copying anything anywhere, however helpful it may be!

Just wondering how they used the cards to get money out of a cash machine ,you have to have a PIN number for cash.

Hi Re,
Possibly the shopper was followed in-store and could of observed a pin entry. The Argos machine inside was tried for £750, with one of the cards but the bank "declined transaction.".

Hi,
The shopper's shop was over £100, and required a pin entry to conduct the purchase.
