OVO Energy

OVO Energy took over SSE as my electricity supplier last year. I have had nothing but trouble from them since, and now my case is with the Ombudsman.
Has anyone had similar issues and can anyone suggest a more customer friendly supplier ~ this does not mean a better tariff ~ just sensible customer relations ?

I've been with Octopus Energy for over 2 years and have had excellent customer service.
They respond rapidly if you tweet them. Only issue I had was lack of regular bills, but they quickly fixed this.

Completely agree, One of the things that gets me is that they tell you when to submit meter reading. You do so and they record it BUT when you get the bill you find they have recorded your reading and have then gone added an estimated reading as final reading which is very much higher than the correct reading.
Cannot see the sense in asking for a reading on specific day only to ignore with a highly inflated estimation.

I've found OVO horrible to deal with. After my father's death they kept sending him estimated bills months after I had told them repeatedly that he had died and his house was empty. In one phone call the OVO lady I had just told (again) that my father had died said I'd have to get his permission to discuss his account with her. Their customer service with my own account has also been non existent. The energy industry needs a proper shake up as there are too many companies exploiting their customers shamelessly.

Ovo Energy are a complete nightmare! Have complained and reported them. I send them photos of my meter readings, yet, they still get it wrong every time!
They tell me, that my gas meter reference number isn't a unique number, So basically I used £12,000 of gas, in a month! As, it is the total of all the meters, with the same UTR number! Yet, SSE fitted the meter, and they never had this problem!

Our entire sympathy, as the OP my wife was told by Talk Talk they could not stop billing her late mother unless she, that is her mother, could confirm she was dead !!!!!
What is the dialing code for the afterlife ?

We've been with Sainsburys Energy and been very happy with Customer Service and billing. It's actually run by EON Next.
