General Wine Fair - October 1 - Freddie Dawkins (21st Sep 2005 - 16:00:20) There will be signs going up around the village shortly, but just thought I'd let everyone here know that the annual General Wine Fair will be on Saturday October 1 at the Millennium Centre. Opens at 11am, no admission charge, and free tasting of more than 200 wines and spirits. It's always a fun event and there are usually one or two surprises during the day. Most people only know General Wine through the shop in Station Road, but you might be interested to know they have a big warehouse on the Beaver Industrial and they supply lots of restaurants, hotels, airlines etc - so the annual Wine Fair is a chance to try stuff that's a bit rare. Last year's "star" was a range of Carribbean rums - I bought some for Christmas entertaining and am still getting return invitations!!! Enjoy!
