Cazza cafe open on Station Road.
- paul (3rd Jan 2023 - 11:20:24)

Hi
Good to see the Cazza cafe (formerly Shankleys). Wish their business every success.
Having a new enterprise open in this area increases footfall, and is good news for surrounding businesses i.e. the Hardware shop.
Often builders use a cafe during the day, and having a nearby shop that sell materials in their trade, is a welcome spin-off.

Visited with a friend pre Christmas. Great coffee in a good sized cup. Friendly staff but that’ day it lacked atmosphere. Maybe some quiet music?

Are the new owners anything to do with the landlord that unceremoniously booted out the people who run Shankleys? If so, I won't set foot in the place. If not, I'll support them, but then the question has to be, why kick out Shankleys who didn't want to go, only to replace with another cafe?

Hi,
I heard there were questions about payments due, by the then landlord (not the tenant of Shankleys) to EHDC.
A Council auction took place, and the winning bidder owned the unit to trade.

"landlord that unceremoniously booted out the people who run Shankleys" - hasn't he died?
