Liphook Village Surgery
- BD (11th Oct 2022 - 10:35:09)
I have been trying for over a week to get an appointment with the nurse
The shortest position I have managed in the queue is 27th.
Am I just unlucky or is this now the norm?

Tried that wendy ran out in liphook within a very short time. Went to liss the next day same thing. Carried on to petersfield walked straight in no problems said they had plenty of vaccinations why couldn’t they give some to Liphook and liss surgery’s so we don’t have to travel.

Since the Swan outfit took over, the service is a disgrace. I took two weeks to get an appointment. I applied for a repeat prescription and after 10 days, the doctor still hadn’t even signed the prescription. Lousy.

What is going on with surgery 😳. I took me 24 mins for my call to be answered! I do feel so sorry for the receptionist as people blood would be boiling before they get say what they called 😕. I spoke to a friend last night, who was very worried about something, couldn't get to see a doctor for TWO WEEKS 😳, so left it for a few days and went A&E and it was good job she did
The people in charge of the surgery, should be on the front line for a week to see what a shambles the surgery is.

Re: Liphook Village Surgery and Liphook and liss

Since Messrs Holden and Holden took over both Liphook surgeries and run them from Petersfield the population in Liphook have no Doctors they can contact and as someone has rightly said you have to go to Petersfield for anything - that is all well and good for people who have access to a car but not for the people who do not!
I think the PCT should be made aware of this situation as holding 3k people hostage forcing them to travel 16 miles round trip taxi fare £20 is not funny and to add to the mixture Lloyds Pharmacy are as bad.

It's good to have alternative views and reviews.
Re Lloyds, I went in approx 11 am weekday this week, store very clean and smart one person in front of me, young lady at counter told me 20 minutes wait to prepare my prescription, so I went shopping, returned and no queue, prescription ready. Also found out they deliver for free, so will be downloading app. Overall very pleasant experience and would hate to lose it.
Re doctors, not been this year, but last year had to queue on phone for 10-20 minutes regularly, so perhaps nothing changed we all know the pressure the NHS is under and the money goes to the cities as always, the staff do their best, but are only human, I've had mainly very positive interactions where they have done their best to help me in a very reasonable time, but one or two times over the years I've felt they are overburdened or I was a burden, it's times like this you really value an efficient local NHS, I'm sure it's far from their intention but they do seem very busy and our town is growing rapidly. Overall I'd say a local gp surgery is a top priority for a town like Liphook and we should do all we can to try and keep it local.
This centralisation of the NHS is a national thing, the economic drive to close or merge smaller, usually rural services and group them together in a single location may work perfectly on a budget sheet but seems to miss out the human factor. It may not be much of a problem in London as everything is a bus, train walk or cycle away, you can pick up an electric bike on every street corner for 12p and leave it on the pavement at your destination, there are 100,000 Uber drivers ready to take you anywhere and your McDonalds is delivered to you by a student from Columbia on a moped, different world!
But here it's different, here if you need to get anywhere beyond your village and don't or can't drive you often have a lengthy, convoluted and expensive trip, I wonder who speaks up for rural folk in the corridors of power, every group seems to have its pressure lobbyies, shouting in the ears of politicians, is there an effective one for the millions who live in provincial villages and towns with dwindling or non existent infrastructure?
Having said that, I don't think Petersfield is that difficult to get to, Royal Surrey is ok, but Frimley Park or Portsmouth are a complete pain!
If you are mobility impaired it may be different, is there NHS transport available I wonder?

Little confused er . OAPs that don’t have the internet are having to pay £60 for six months delivery. And I thought your prescription was sent to the chemist and should be ready when you go to collect it ?? . This has been the big problem they don’t put the prescriptions up until you go in then you have to go back to pick it up two journeys. Also Lloyds direct who do the delivery on the app don’t leave it if your not in they take it back. As for the surgery’s we have two in liphook why should we have to go anywhere else to see a doctor?? . Both surgery’s should at some time be manned by a doctor even if it means pulling one from petersfield otherwise it makes a mockery of having surgery’s in liphook.. Just my thoughts.

It would be useful if there was a bus service to Petersfield!

I am sure I am not the only local resident who continues to be frustrated - and angry - at the service provided by our village doctors. Why, when there are two surgeries in the village, are we being asked to travel to Petersfield?

I have had no issues with the surgery. Got an emergency appt earlier this week on the same day I called in Liss (No biggy - 5 mins on the train) then had bloods the next day in Liphook in the morning.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
