- tom (20th Sep 2011 - 16:14:29)

Mr Groves is still suspended. The money he got from the Parish Council was compensation for his previous suspension caused by Councillor Hoskin's accusations which were thrown out by the investigation committee at EHDC - compensation which was agreed by the Parish Council's finance committee on the advice of the Parish Council's solicitors.

As Councillor Hoskins is on the finance committee that suspended Mr Groves, and terminated Mrs Hausser's contract without giving a reason (as far as I am aware she still has not been given a reason by the Council why her contract was terminated) there is a serious probability that Mr Groves and Mrs Hausser will be entitled to more compensation due to the actions, without reference to the wider Parish Council, of a small few.

I think you are barking -up the wrong tree, phelim, where do you get your info? A short term contract is usually terminated without giving a reason, it is not permanant, does not attract compensation, it is only after one year has elapsed that the job attracts any rights. How do you know there was no reason given to the temporary employee? How do you know that being suspended on full pay will need compensation? The taxpayers of liphook voted in a nearly new council to avoid the old regime from carrying on. One of the councillors, Dr Judge I think came to a meeting in May, has not been seen since. Just how much do you need councillors like that?. I am sure that life goes on, and we can all survive this! In this age of modern technology, very few things cannot be done via a computer and most services that Liphook recieve come from EHDC and the County Council. The parish council deal directly only with allotments, playpark and recreation ground, radford park and cutting grass, millenium hall, and some local streetlights. Most of the other things are done at EHDC and County Council.LIPHOOK WILL SURVIVE.

The Parish Council is not just there for the mundane things in life such as playparks and grass-cutting. They are there for the more important things like preventing unwanted building and hopefully promoting and actively supporting properly managed development and improvement of our town/village.

the size of liphook at 8 and a half thousand inhabitants proves how they can stop development?
