Well I really would have considered voting for them but then ...
- Nick Hancock (14th Sep 2011 - 19:17:35)

... the Conservatives today put a flyer through my door saying that they see the Bohunt Manor project as a \"huge opportunity\".

Which project do they mean? You might be forgiven for thinking they were referring to the Exclusive Brethren\'s monstrosity. Or maybe whichever planning application comes next. No, it turns out that they just mean the existing project for sports fields, a medical centre and allotments.

It may be superficially attractive, but we have seen already how the owners of Bohunt Manor are using this permission as a foot in the door for whatever scheme next comes along. Don\'t forget that they invoked on it in support of the application for the Exclusive Brethren building - now, fortunately, refused. The tactic was always to sweeten the village up with an attractive development which would be used as a precedent for whatever scheme they think they can get away with. They tried the Exclusive Brethren building - now they will go for whatever else they think they might get away with.

Remember - they only have to succeed once.

Now my problem is solved. I shall vote for candidates with the nouse to understand what is actually going on.

Well done, Nick, you are absolutely right. Spot on.

The voters of Liphook have their second chance in 5 months to vote for change in the way things have been run for goodness knows how long.

Go to www.jacparty.org.uk or www.easthantsexposed.org.uk to find out more.

Whatever your politics please vote - it is apathy that allows these people to get away with their schemes.

Please also note that Barbar Easton and I have tried to arrange a public forum to discuss what should happen at Bohunt Manor for months now.

We will succeed soon.

Don

Unfortunately because the medical centre and playing fields have got permission the developers will use this as their leverage to get houses, check out GL Hearns website it makes interesting reading especially the part where they"help local authorities with the local plans. The lib dems are right to be wary of the developers. I do not paticularly want to be blackmailed into accepting houses in exchange for facilities, which is what looks likely to happen. The parish council do not own any of the land upon which this is to built, and probably will only be given the right to use it so long as they Toe the LIne!
