Liphook Village Surgery Flu Campaign
- Jane May (14th Sep 2011 - 11:10:17)
Liphook Village Surgery is starting its 2011-12 flu vaccination programme for its patients aged 65 and over, or those patients with underlying disease, particularly chronic respiratory or cardiac disease, or those who are immunosuppressed. Pregnant women are also invited to have a flu vaccination which can be done at anytime during their pregnancy.
For most healthy people, seasonal flu is an unpleasant but usually self-limiting disease with recovery usually within a week or two. The annual immunisation programme is targeted at those who are at particular risk of severe illness if they catch flu and to minimise the health impact of seasonal flu through effective monitoring, prevention and treatment, including vaccinating at least 75% of those at greatest risk with seasonal flu vaccine before the virus starts.
If you are in the group of Liphook Village Surgery patients eligible to receive a flu vaccination, and would like to be vaccinated, please contact reception on 0844 477 8646 to book an appointment. Clinics are starting 03 October 2011.

I had flu once - several years ago and was off work for over 3 weeks. A bad cold is NOT the flu! It is far, far worse and I would recommend those who are eligible to go and get your vaccination. Believe me you don't want to get the flu!
